Book Rant: Cover Changes

I’m sure you have seen many people complain about this issue, and now you get to see me complain about cover changes,as well, and why I loathe them.

I sort of understand why they would change a cover. I  think it’s because we are human, most of us judge things by the way they look and that is no exception with books. So I feel like when they change a cover, they do that so it would appeal to a wider audience than the first one and make it more likely that a person would pick it up just by looking at it, which happens a lot of times.

Mindless of that, I find Cover Changes to be my biggest book pet peeve. Of course it’s the context that matters, I am usually not one to judge a book by it’s cover but I hate it when books in a series don’t match. It just bugs me.  What annoys me even more is when they release the updated cover in paperback for the first book but fail to print it in hardback and then I’m stuck with books that look like they don’t belong together.

This was quite a short post but I hope you enjoyed it.

P.S. I don’t mean to be all negative, I just thought it would be fun to share my biggest book pet peeve. Comment down below and tell me yours. Like, Share and Follow me. If you like. Thank you.

The Book Jar

You probably have heard about ‘The Book Jar’, the concept is quite simple. You basically write down all the titles you haven’t read, each title on a small piece of paper and place them in a jar. After that you have to pick one randomly. The title you pick is the one you’ll read next.

So i did this today but I only placed the names of the books in my April TBR, so I could select the one I’d read after The Crown of Midnight. I selected a piece of paper and got Catcher in the Rye. So I’ll be reading it next. It’s a classic by J.D. Salinger, I’ve really wanted to read it and I honestly can’t wait to do so. Tell me your thoughts in the comments. Thank you for reading!

Book Buying:The Online Edition

Books, books everywhere! I really want to discuss today my recommended online book-buying places. These are places that have the widest selections and fairly good prices. I am recommending three websites, that I’ve used or heard people gush about having wonderful experiences with.

*Note that I will not include physical bookstores that have websites that ship or online websites that sell, primarily second-hand merchandise, that will be in another post.

1. Amazon:

Amazon is my personal favorite, it’s where I buy the majority of my books. They have such a wide selection and they ship worldwide. They have many great offers, discounts and they sell books in many different formats. So yes I definitely recommend Amazon. Hand-on-heart.

2. Book Outlet:

Cheap, Cheap, Cheap BOOKS!!!! Book Outlet may not have a the widest selection but they definitely have the most amazing prices ever, that it is very hard to resist adding all of the websites contents to your cart. They ship worldwide with the exception of some countries.

3.The Book Depository:

Last but definitely not least is The Book Depository. The Book Depository definitely have the biggest selection, I’ve ever seen. In addition they have free shipping worldwide, with the exception of some countries they don’t ship to. Plus, I heard they give out really cool bookmarks with your purchase.

So this was my online edition for the coolest places to buy books . Thank you for reading, comment down below to tell me your favorite online places to purchase books.
